Frequently asked questions

These are the questions cafés most often need answered before reaching out.

If you want the short version of how WAYFARER works, start here.

Getting started

How do I start a conversation with WAYFARER?

The simplest next step is a sample request.
That gives us a clearer starting point for discussing fit, timing, and current availability.

Do I need to make a large commitment to begin?

No.
WAYFARER is not built around forcing large commitments too early.
A conversation can begin with a smaller, more realistic starting point.

Can I try a coffee before making a bigger decision?

In many cases, yes.
That depends on current availability, fit, and the stage of the sourcing window.

Is WAYFARER only for established cafés?

Not necessarily.
What matters more is whether the café values clarity, seasonal movement, and sourcing context — not just size alone.

Origins and availability

Are your origins fixed year-round?

No.
WAYFARER does not build around fixed origins by default.
Origins move with season, availability, and sourcing reality.

Does that mean the offer changes often?

Sometimes, yes.
But change is not treated as a surprise or hidden behind smoother language.
It is part of how coffee actually moves.

How should I understand availability?

Availability reflects the current sourcing window, batch reality, and what can still be discussed realistically.
It is not a permanent catalogue status.

Will the same coffee always be available again later?

Not necessarily.
Some coffees return in later phases. Some do not.
That depends on season, fit, and the conditions around selection.

Do you only work with very small lots?

Not always.
What matters is not just size, but whether the batch makes sense in timing, movement, and café use.

Working with WAYFARER

Do I need to replace my current suppliers?

No.
WAYFARER is designed as a complement, not a replacement.

Can WAYFARER fit into an existing menu without major changes?

Yes, in many cases.
A coffee may fit as a rotation, a feature, a short-term slot, or another role that works within the café’s current setup.

Do you require exclusivity?

No.
The model is built around fit and usefulness, not exclusivity.

Do you work through fixed scripts or sales language?

No.
The goal is to explain coffees through real context — why they are here, what matters now, and what cafés should understand before using them.

Is communication part of the model, or only the coffee itself?

Communication is part of the model.
Clear discussion around timing, limits, and change is essential to how WAYFARER works.

Expectations and fit

What should I not expect from WAYFARER?

You should not expect fixed origins by default, unlimited volume, or certainty without explanation.
WAYFARER is built around realistic communication, not artificial permanence.

What if my café needs maximum consistency above all else?

Then this may not be the right fit.
WAYFARER is not built to imitate manufacturing-style consistency where agricultural change is part of the reality.

Is this model right for every café?

No.
It works best for cafés that can work with seasonal movement, flexible use, and honest sourcing context.

Does flexibility mean everything can be adjusted?

No.
Flexibility means making room for fit, timing, and different use cases — not removing all limits from the process.

Why are expectations discussed so early?

Because unclear expectations create problems later.
It is better to be realistic early than to spend time correcting the wrong assumptions afterward.
